2024 DAY OF HONOR

Salmon for Soldiers is a registered non-profit charity, established in 2013, whose mission is “to offer a sense of normalcy and relaxation to our nation’s Veterans through fishing.” The simple act of fishing allows them to relax, enter into new relationships and to learn how fishing can benefit them for a day or a lifetime. Salmon for Soldiers events are designed to accommodate veterans with paralysis, PTSD, TBI and other debilitating challenges. Each year over 400 veterans are given the opportunity to fish with local guides and volunteer boaters through Salmon for Soldiers.

MEET OUR NEW OPERATIONS OFFICER

Sam was born and raised in Lewiston, Idaho on July 5, 1981. Growing up Sam was in Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout. Sam has always been an outdoors person spending time hunting, camping, fishing and shooting.
Sam joined the Marine Corps on July 17, 2000 as an infantry rifleman. He was deploying multiple times for combat and training. On October 13, 2023 he retired from active duty. After 23 years of honorable service Sam says he is grateful for everything the Marine Corps has provided for he and his family. Thank you for your service Sam.
Sam’s amazing wife Haley Church and he have been married for 20 years and have 5 children. Sam says he couldn’t have asked for a better partner. Haley raised the kids while he was constantly away training and deploying. Haley and Sam plan to spend the next chapter of our lives traveling the United States and abroad catching up on lost time.
We are pleased to have Sam with us.
